Procurement
Our quality experts with profound experience in determining the quality of the raw cashew nuts from conducting a methodical sampling and cutting test of raw nuts at the farm-gate. Once the nuts pass the quality check they are brought to the warehouses of our associate company. The procured nuts usually contain a high moisture percentage. To bring the moisture under 8% which is the threshold, the nuts are sun dried for two or three days depending on the moisture content. Sun Drying is a crucial part in maintaining the shelf life of the raw nuts as it keeps the pests away and lowers the chance of fungus developing during long and moist maritime. During the sun drying process bad nuts are picked by hand and these are done by experienced ladies who determine the bad nuts by their colour, hardness and overall appearance. By picking the bad nuts the overall quality of the raw nuts improve and result  in a better end product.

Storage.

Right after sun drying the raw nuts are bagged in sea worthy jute bags which are labelled with the batch number and the country of origin. The bagged nuts are stacked on wooden pellets in the warehouse for the hot dry nuts to cool down for two to three days depending on the weather conditions.

Steam Roasting

Raw cashew nuts are steamed in a drum to loosen the outermost shell of the nuts from the kernel. They are kept aside to dry for 24 hours before the next process begins.

Cutting

This process involves the separation of the cashew kernels from their shells. The shells are then passed on for extraction of the cashew nut shell liquid.

Hot chamber

The cashew kernels are roasted in a hot chamber at 80 degrees for 5 hours. This supports the easy peeling of cashew nuts in our later stages!

Peeling

With the help of a peeling machine, the testa (skin) of the cashew nuts are separated from the nuts. This process involves subjecting the nuts to brushing with compressed air.

Grading

Cashew nuts are then sorted based on their size and color as per the standards prescribed by CEPCI.
